NHS
Scholarship:
Students who have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or a similar standard of excellence set by the faculty council meet the scholarship requirement of NHS. These students are then eligible for consideration on the basis of Service, Leadership, Citizenship, and Character. A Faculty Council sits once a year to nominate these students. Each semester the student grades are reviewed to stay in good standing in NHS. Students must reapply for NHS each year.
Service:
This quality is defined by the voluntary contributions made by a student to the school or community, done without compensation and with a positive attitude.
Leadership:
Student leaders are those that are resourceful, good problem solvers, supporters of school activities, dependable, and students that exemplify positive and courteous attitudes.
Character:
The student of good character upholds principles of good morality and ethics, and shows high standards of honesty.
Citizenship:
The student who demonstrates citizenship understands the importance of civic involvement and has a high regard for freedom, justice and democracy through involvement with such activities as school clubs, scouting or community organizations.
