JSerra uses a local southern California online textbook company called MySchoolBookstore.com ("MSB") to stock and sell its textbooks. MSB's website is available here: MSB. Their phone number is: (760) 246-8115. Each year, you will need to order your textbooks from MSB's website, and they will be shipped to the location of your choice. JSerra has no information regarding your textbook account. For questions about your account, you must contact MSB directly at the phone number listed above or via their website. To Purchase Textbooks for Fall 2010: To purchase books for Fall 2010, the online bookstore is now open and is available at: Link to Bookstore. A newly updated textbook list (updated August 5) is attached below - the 2010 2011 Textbook Catalog List MBS; however, consult the MBS website for the list of textbooks to purchase. If you have a second semester class like Health or Economics, you should purchase those textbooks at this time. Freshman Health class textbooks are located on the MBS website under Physical Education. Fall Book Sales -- UPDATES (as dated): MEDICAL MAGNET students: the textbooks for Medical Ethics and Intro to Health Science are CORRECT as listed on the MBS online bookstore website (updated July 23, 2010). FRENCH 2 and FRENCH 2 HONORS students: All students requesting French 2 have been scheduled in French 2 Honors. Regular French 2 is not being offered this year. You would need to speak with your student's counselor for an explanation, if you do not want your student in French 2 Honors. It appears that Promenades is the necessary textbook for French 2 Honors. The MBS bookstore website has been updated to reflect this change. (Updated August 4, 2010). June 2011 Buybacks: Buybacks are over for the 2009/2010 school year. Buybacks are held for two days at the end of each school year during finals week (the 2nd week of June). MSB brings a truck trailer to our campus and the returned books are put on the trailer. Typically the hours for buybacks are 10am to 2pm on that designated Thursday and Friday of finals week. You will save time by filling out your form (which is mailed to your home by MSB) and bringing the completed form with you. If you do not have your form, you will be required to fill out a form - in pen - before getting in line. Volunteers will help you bag your books in plastic bags provided by MSB and will then put your books on the truck. You will receive a company credit, if your student is continuing (or if you have other JSerra students). If your student is graduating or leaving JSerra, a check will be mailed to you by MSB. JSerra has no information on when checks are mailed. You must contact MSB if you have any questions about your textbook account. If you miss buybacks, you may not ship the books to MBS to receive a credit - you must attend the buybacks on the dates designated by JSerra. If you will be out of town or otherwise unavailable at that time, you will need to have another family member or friend bring the books to campus for you. Conditions for Buybacks: Only textbooks which will be used again next term and which are in resaleable condition will be bought back. MSB's website will guide you to a description of the buy back criteria it will use to grade the condition of the books you return. Please see the PDF documents below for instructions about ordering summer and fall books online, the list of which books you may sell back to MSB, and instructions for the book buyback. Summer 2010 Textbooks/Remediation Classes: If your student is taking a summer remediation class, please keep their textbook. Do not sell it back with your other textbooks. You can sell the book back at the end of the following term, as long as it is being used again by JSerra faculty. If you need to purchase a textbook for Summer 2010 - books are available now. See the flyer below for more information. You must buy your summer textbooks online through MSB, so plan ahead. |
