Campus Ministry
The Mission:
Campus Ministry’s mission is to foster student growth in the values of the Gospel. Students are encouraged to develop a personal relationship with Christ and are given opportunities to grow in the faith in religious studies, retreats, participation in the Mass, and prayer services. We aim to complement the family in its primary role in religious education and support the parish as a center of Catholic life. It is our goal that the students develop a greater love and desire for participation in the life of their Church. We encourage students’ participation in the communal and Sacramental life of their parish.
Guidance:
Campus Ministry provides an “ear” for students who need someone with whom to talk. Students are always welcome to make an appointment or walk in and spend time.
Leadership Opportunities:
Many Campus Ministry programs are directed and administered by students. Such responsibility affords students valuable training and a taste of leadership, which we hope they will take with them to their future parishes and apostolates. Leadership opportunities consist of: Liturgy Core Planning Team, Extra Ordinary Ministers, Peer Ministers, Retreat Leaders, and Music Ministry.
Retreats:
Retreats allow students to focus and evaluate their personal and spiritual growth. All students have the opportunity to participate in several retreat opportunities throughout their experience at JSerra Catholic High School.
Christian Service:
Students are expected to serve in acts of charity toward their fellow man while at JSerra Catholic High School. While many service opportunities will be presented to students throughout their time at JSerra such as trips to The Catholic Worker, self-discovered opportunities are welcomed as well.
