Campus Ministry

Mission

The mission of Campus Ministry is to foster student commitment to the values of the Gospel.

Guidance

Campus Ministry provides an "ear" for students who need someone with whom to talk. Students are always welcome to make an appointment or walk in and spend time with one of our Campus Ministers.

Leadership Opportunities

Many Campus Ministry programs are directed and administered by students. Such responsibility affords students valuable training and an opportunity to practice leadership, which we hope they will take with them to their future parishes and apostolates. Leadership opportunities consist of Retreat Leaders, Music Ministry, Altar Serving, and many more.

Retreats

Retreats allow students to focus and deepen their interior lives through an encounter with the living God. All students have the opportunity to participate in several off-campus retreats offered throughout their experience at JSerra Catholic High School.

Attending my junior year retreat with Campus Ministry changed my previously negative attitude toward school. I now feel like I'm closer to God with the guidance and support of the Campus Ministers.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS

TNL

Tuesday Night Lights (TNL) helps each and every student grow personally and spiritually. It is a weekly gathering for students who wish to learn more or grow in their faith through Bible study, worship, service, and leadership. The night includes games, music, a short talk from one of our Campus Ministers, and an opportunity to connect with peers. Campus Ministers also encourage students to celebrate their faith through participation in a local parish or congregation. Students do not need to register and are invited to attend on Tuesdays from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the West Center Room. Please see the Calendar for up-to-date times and special locations.

XLT

XLT is a monthly night of praise and worship to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament led by the Campus Ministry Music Team. Students will go deeper in their prayer and encounter the presence of Christ in new ways. XLT takes place one Tuesday per month from 6:00-8:30 p.m. in the West Center Room. Pizza dinner included at 6:00 p.m.

Please see the Calendar for up-to-date times and special locations.

RETREATS

Off-campus overnight retreats are a chance for your son or daughter to take a step away from their routine and examine the big questions in life: Who am I? Who is God? Why am I here? What matters most? With our seasoned retreat leaders, your son or daughter will encounter the love of Christ and the Church in a way that will give clarity and purpose to their life, and strength and resolve to pursue the excellence for which they have been created. DISCIPLESHIP GROUPS

Discipleship groups are small groups held monthly and led by a JSerra teacher that invite students to explore their faith and apply it to their lives in practical ways. Through Scripture studies, inspiring spiritual literature and peer conversations, students grow in virtue and learn to solve problems and resolve conflicts in healthy and effective ways.
