JSerra Catholic High School

At JSerra, we believe that athletics play an integral role in the mental, physical, and spiritual development of young adults. Athletics teach critical life lessons and skills, such as discipline, cooperation and team-work, time management, dedication, morality, compliance with rules, and proper work ethics.

Thus, we encourage all our students to participate in school athletics, from intramural sports to varsity competition in one of the most highly-competitive leagues in the country – the Trinity League. We also encourage our students to participate in multiple sports, rather than focusing on only one activity.

We are committed to providing our students the best possible athletic environment, from experienced and dedicated coaches and trainers to unparalleled athletic faculties and equipment.

Kick-Off Poker Tournament Announced

JSerra Catholic High School Athletics Department is hosting its 3rd Poker Tournament & Casino Night Fundraiser on Saturday, September 13, 2008, at Family Classic Cars (33033 Camino Capistrano, San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675).

Come and support JSerra Athletes with a fun filled evening of Poker & Casino games.
The evening will feature great food, drinks, and of course the fabulous prizes.

6:00 pm – Registration 7:00 PM - Tournament Begins

$100 Tournament Entry
$25 General Admission

Kirk Orahood has been selected as the new Head Coach of the JSerra Tennis Program

Kirk Orahood has been selected as the new Head Coach of the JSerra Tennis Program. Kirk is a welcomed addition to the JSerra family and your continued support of the program is greatly appreciated.

Coach Orahood has been teaching and coaching tennis in the OC for 20+ yrs…16 of those as head tennis professional @ Mesa Verde CC, one of Southern California’s premier tennis facilities. He has placed many students into college tennis programs via scholarships, pro circuits, and Wimbledon.

Athletic Physicals

If you missed the Sports Physicals that were held on June 7th, you can go to South Coast Medical group to complete the process. South Coast Medical Group will donate $20 back to your sports team if you complete your physical with them.

Please download the Athletic Eligibility Packet and the South Coast Medical Group Flyer

Steed wins state high jump title

JSerra sophomore Harrison Steed captured the boys high jump with a mark of 7 feet, 1 inch Saturday at the CIF State Track and Field Championships at Cerritos College.

JSerra B. Lacrosse Advances

The JSerra Boys Lacrosse team advanced in the O.C. Championship quarterfinal with a 9-7 victory over the visiting El Toro Chargers on Monday night.

JSerra will host top-seeded Foothill in a semifinal Wednesday @ 5:00pm.

Wildermuth Named JSerra’s Head Girls Volleyball Coach

Katie Wildermuth was named Head Girls Volleyball Coach at JSerra Catholic High School, where she currently teaches in the Social Studies Department. The announcement was made by Athletics Director Jim Hartigan on Friday, April 18, 2008.

Wildermuth, a native of San Clemente & Mater Dei High School graduate, received her Bachelor’s Degree in History from Emory University in Atlanta, GA. While at Emory, she was a 2 year Captain on the Women’s Volleyball Team, leading them to 4 NCAA (D3) Tournaments, and reaching 2 sweet Sixteen’s, 1 Elite Eight, and 1 Final Four.

Upon Graduation from Emory, Wildermuth earned her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from Concordia University in Irvine, CA.

Katie is a welcomed addition to the Lion’s Coaching Staff.
