SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA, August 15, 2008 – JSerra Catholic High School has selected Michael Hutnick, who started at JSerra as the defensive coordinator for JSerra boys’ lacrosse in 2006, as the team’s new head coach.
The boys’ lacrosse team at JSerra has enjoyed considerable success since Hutnick joined the program, including a winning record of 17-6 in 2008 and playoff appearances in each of the team’s 2 varsity seasons.
JSerra Athletic Director Jim Hartigan says “Hutnick is a young and upcoming talented lacrosse coach who is well-respected by both his players and their parents. He will surely be a great asset to JSerra lacrosse.”
Prior to coaching at JSerra, Hutnick was a co-director at the Southern New Hampshire University All-Star Lacrosse Camp. As a player, Hutnick was team captain for the Southern New Hampshire University men’s lacrosse team during his sophomore, junior, and senior years and was selected as an All-American lacrosse player during his senior year in 2006. While at Pinkerton Academy for high school, Hutnick played on the varsity lacrosse team all four years. “I have greatly enjoyed watching the program grow and develop over the last two years,” says Hutnick, who is enthusiastic about his new role on the team. “With an extremely talented group and a heightened excitement for the season, I am looking forward to a very successful year.”
