Beckman’s Harrell throws no-hitter vs. University THE ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER Beckman pitcher Jasmin Harrell threw a no-hitter with nine strikeouts as the Patriots (2-2, 2-6) defeated the University Trojans, 18-0, in a five-inning Pacific Coast League softball matchup at Beckman High on Friday afternoon. Harrell picked up her third victory of the season and also had a team-high four RBIs and a double in the fourth inning. Trista Thomas went 4 for 4 with two RBIs and a triple in the fourth inning. Megan Denio went 3 for 3 with a walk, three runs and two stolen bases. Also in the Pacific Coast League: Laguna Hills 8, Irvine 2: Erica Meslin had four hits and a home run in the fifth inning as the Hawks beat the Vaqueros at Irvine High. Elisa Victa had three hits, three RBIs, two stolen bases and scored a run to lead the offense in the third inning. Pitcher Christine Gomez improved to 13-1. In other girls softball games: In the Trinity League: JSerra 1, Rosary 0: Emma Mackney had the winning single in the bottom of the sixth to drive in Alex Holmes as the Lions defeated the Royals at JSerra High. Holmes also had 11 strikeouts and improved to 9-3 with the victory. No. 1 0 Santa Margarita 4, Orange Lutheran 3: The Eagles (2-0, 13-3) overcame a two-run deficit by scoring four runs each in the sixth and seventh innings to defeat the Lancers (1-1, 11-5) at Orange Lutheran High.
