Yesterday ABC7, Fox Sports West, and KPCC interviewed JSerra's Athletics staff, parents, and students on the school's new concussion prevention program. Below is the video from ABC7's evening broadcast. Check back soon for additional coverage from Fox Sports West and KPCC.
The OC Register's Dan Albano reports on incoming freshman wide receiver Keyan Burnett.
JSerra is initiating a new concussion prevention program to keep its athletes even safer. The Athletic Training Staff will be administering Baseline Concussion Testing starting with all JSerra Football players through use of WAVi, a novel platform that combines the Sports Concussion Assessment Tool (SCAT5) with direct brain measurements. Through the WAVi scan, JSerra joins a large Protect the Brain research cohort aimed at keeping sports alive and athletes safe. In fact, JSerra is the first high school in Southern California to implement this as part of their program.
