Anjelyka Brown Named JSerra Girls Soccer Head Coach

Today JSerra Catholic High School announced the hiring of Anjelyka Brown as its Girls Soccer Head Coach. Brown was formerly the Assistant Head Coach at JSerra from 2018 until now under former Head Coach Greg Baker.

A three-year letter winner at Santa Clara (2014-2017), Brown helped lead the Broncos to the Elite 8 of the NCAA Championships as well as a top 25 ranking in both 2016 and 2017. Following her collegiate career, Brown played professionally with the Seattle Reign, Skovde Kik (Sweden), Manly United, Gold Coast (Australia), and IBV FC (Iceland).

As an assistant coach, she helped mentor former Orange County Players of the Year Isabella D'Aquila (Santa Clara) and Samantha Williams (Stanford) as well as many former Lions who are now playing at Division 1 programs. Several of her students play at her alma mater, which is the current D1 Women Soccer champion.

"What Anjel provides to our institution is great continuity, and the resources to continue the greatness of JSerra Girls Soccer," said JSerra Athletic Director Chris Ledyard. "She has a wealth of experience with Santa Clara and professionally, and has seen the great success of the soccer on both those levels. She has amassed such great relationships both internally at JSerra and externally in the community of Girls Soccer. We are elated for her to create her own mark at JSerra, and we cannot wait to watch her cultivate relationships with our returners."

Brown, an Orange County native who attended San Juan Hills High School, is also a faculty member in JSerra's Science Department, where she teaches Engineering and Physics classes. She holds a degree in Biomechanical Engineering from Santa Clara. She is also the daughter of former Lady Lions Girls Basketball Coach Tunisia Turner.
