The Advanced and AP Drawing and Painting students in the Arts Magnet Program recently completed an amazing global outreach project. The project is sponsored by a non-profit called The Memory Project, which is a program in which U.S. high school art students are asked to create portraits of children in war-torn countries (particularly countries that have had difficult relationships with the US).
Students were asked to create portraits of 15 Pakistani orphans who have lost everything and have no photos or records of their childhood. These portraits serve the dual purpose of giving them a beautiful memento of their childhood along with sowing seeds of friendship between the young people of our two countries.
