JSerra Juniors Found Start-Up for OC Residents Affected by COVID-19

Juniors Emily Bush, Mellie Wang, and Matthew Marandola have launched a volunteer-based platform called Community Aid & Relief (CARE) Initiative.

The goal is to bring assistance to members of the community, especially the elderly and disabled, who are considered at-risk groups and unable to leave their homes to obtain such basic necessities as groceries. The service allows people to place online orders through the CARE website or through their store of choice, then have their items delivered for free while maintaining social distance.

Thus far, the students have reached out to nonprofit organizations and are already receiving referrals for many community members in need. Their goal is to expand their volunteer base for the delivery team.

Both adults and students are encouraged to join by emailing the leadership team at carei2020.customerservice@gmail.com or through their web site.
