JSerra Celebrates First JESPY Awards

The inaugural JESPY Awards were held last night to highlight the athletic achievements of the year and open the JSerra Catholic High School Athletics Hall of Fame. The event was emceed by former NFL quarterback Steve Beuerlein and the special guest keynote speaker was legendary Olympian Janet Evans.

The evening began with a meet and greet on the JSerra Pool Desk, where event sponsors and their guests enjoyed an interview between Beuerlein and Evans. Meanwhile, JESPY attendees partook from local food trucks and walked the red carpet before the ceremony began on Main Field.

A JESPY Award (JSerra Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Award) is an accolade currently presented by the JSerra Athletics Department to recognize individual and team athletic achievement as well as other sports-related performance during the calendar year preceding a given annual ceremony.

  • Fr. Damien Impact Award (Presented by The Cadieux Family): Priscilla Gillies - Softball
  • Game of the Year (Presented by The Capital Group): Boys Golf 's victory over Servite
  • Record-Breaking Performance (Presented by TPS Family of Companies): Track & Field - Girls Distance Medley Relay
  • Perseverance Award (Presented by The Szyman Family): Gabe D'Arcy - Baseball
  • Team of the Year (Presented by The Los Angeles Angels): Baseball
  • Courage Award (Presented by The Ristoff Family): Jacob Bledsoe - Boys Lacrosse
  • Male Athlete of the Year (Presented by Reyes Coca-Cola): Gage Jump - Baseball
  • Female Athlete of the Year (Presented by JLC Associates):
  • Hollie Farmer - Softball
