While at JSerra, he was Team Captain, 1st Team All-Trinity League selection, and selected as an Orange County All-Star.

Now a junior, O'Brien is a 3rd Team All-Ivy preseason selection. As a sophomore, he was fifth on the team in tackles with 45 while starting all ten games at cornerback. While at JSerra, he was a Team Captain, 1st Team All-Trinity League selection, and 2nd Team All-Orange County selection
