2nd Inductee in JSerra Athletics 2023 Hall of Fame Is Harrison Steed ('10)

Harrison Steed ('10) will be inducted into the JSerra Hall of Fame at the 3rd annual JESPY Awards on May 25th. Steed was a standout on the Track and Field team during his tenure at JSerra and one of the earliest JSerra athletes to compete at the collegiate level.

While at JSerra, Steed was the California State Champion in the high jump three of his four years. He still holds the all-time school record with a height of 7'1" and was the first student at JSerra to win an individual State Championship.

Harrison Steed high jumps over a rod in a track and field competition.

Upon graduation, Steed joined the Track and Field program at the University of California, Berkeley. He is the president of his and his brother's company, PickTrace, a fast-growing software company that provides workforce and harvest management solutions for large-scale farms.

"Harrison was affable and well liked on campus, he had a great family, and made a positive impact on our school," said Principal Eric Stroupe.

"Harrison was dominant at the high jump during his time at JSerra," said Athletic Director Chris Ledyard, "But what impresses me the most about him was how he was able to use his time at JSerra to propel himself to the national competition level while also receiving a degree from a world-class university. He is the embodiment of what we strive for with our student athletes."

The JSerra Athletics Hall of Fame recognizes those pioneers, legends, individuals, and teams who helped lay the foundation of our athletic programs. Steed joins past inductees, such as the 2009 Baseball Team, Peter Bastone, Mark Spizzirri, and the 2006/2007 class of JSerra athletes.

Join us Thursday, May 25th at 5:00 p.m. for the JESPY's on JSerra's Main Field to celebrate. For more information, visit jserra.org/jespy.
