According to an article published in the June 8, 2025 Orange County Catholic, JSerra "celebrated something extraordinary" on Sunday, May 4, 2025. On that day, 33 of our high school students received the sacraments of initiation into the Catholic Church.
Titled "Fertile Soil": JSerra Students Respond to the Call of Christ in Record Numbers, the article shares how recent surges in students responding to the Christ's call is the result of something both deep and awe-inspiring. For Pat Reidy, vice president of Mission and Faith, it is the result of creating "fertile soil" in which we "till, we water, we plant - and when the Lord chooses to bring a harvest, we rejoice." This "fertile soil" at JSerra is collectively poured into by a "myriad of well-formed and faith-filled adults" including teachers, campus ministers, NET missionaries, staff, and most significantly, the Dominican sisters, who have transformed the OCIA program with their powerful witness, charism, and pastoral instinct.
