Senior Plunge Makes the OC Register's Front Page

Reporter Paul Bersebach's story on yesterday's Senior Plunge made the front page of today's OC Register. The Senior Plunge is one of JSerra's most beloved traditions in which graduating seniors jump into the school swimming pool in their uniforms in celebration of their final week of high school. The event originated in 2009 as a senior prank and has since evolved into an annual tradition supported by the school.

JSerra seniors dive into the summer — and the school pool — on final day of high school careers

Graduating seniors ended the school year at JSerra Catholic High School with a splash, on Wednesday, May 22, by jumping into the school's pool while in their uniforms.

The event had its origin in 2009 as a senior prank and has evolved into a yearly tradition supported by the school.

For the students, it marks the end of their time at JSerra.

"It's one of the last memories you can make with your friends before you go off," said senior Emilie Default. "It represents the end of our high school career."

Commencement is on June 1 at the JSerra Pavilion in San Juan Capistrano.
