The athletic successes of six graduating seniors were recognized during JSerra Athletics' first-ever virtual National Letter of Intent (NLI) Signing Day. The Virtual Signing Day video celebrates students who signed letters of intent and committed to continue their education and play the sport of their choice at the collegiate level.
Athletic Director Chris Ledyard opened his signing day remarks saying, "Congratulations on working hard enough and using God's gifts to the best of your ability to become the best you. Well done, JSerra Spring Signing Day athletes!"
Ledyard continued to address the select group of student-athletes: "I've had the pleasure of watching all of you play, run, or swing at some point during your high school careers. You have been a joy to watch and grow with — and each of you has also cared enough to also lead and serve throughout your time here. You have been raised by your parents and JSerra to be givers and not takers."
Slightly over 7% of United States high school athletes are chosen to play college athletics. Additionally, fewer than 2% of all high school athletes continue to play on in a sport at a Division I school.
Over 30 student-athletes graduating from JSerra this year will be going on to play at the collegiate level this fall. Student-athletes from the class of 2020 have also committed to such prestigious institutions as UCLA, Berkeley, Loyola Marymount, Air Force Academy, Columbia University, UC Davis, University of Utah, and University of Michigan to name a few.
Congratulations to all of our Spring 2020 NLI committed student-athletes. We wish you the best this fall as you continue your education and your sport at the collegiate level. You make us proud!
