The Jeffrey Adam Memorial Regatta was recently held and included thirty boats on the water. JSerra sophomore Charley Stephenson took first place in the C420 class, and the JSerra team of Kaden Brown and Colin O’Byrne earned second in their CFJ class. Emma Graesser nabbed a third place finish with a brand-new crewmate who was being introduced to his very first race day.  

A fundraising dinner was held after the regatta by the Dana Point Harbor Youth Foundation. There, the JSerra sailing team received the news that two of their goals were met; as a result, a new trailer will be purchased and a series of high-level coaching clinics will be scheduled for each semester of the 2024-25 school year.

Team members are excited to begin their summer with great sailing opportunities. Some of the team members are employed as sailing instructors in yacht club summer camps. Others will continue improving their skills with a full schedule of instruction and racing. Dana West Yacht Club is offering learn-to-sail classes as well as racing instruction throughout the summer. For more information, visit dwycjrs.org.
