Personalized Guidance for Every Student

At JSerra, counseling is about more than academic planning and college admissions—it is about helping students discover their God-given gifts, grow in confidence, and discern the path to which they are called.

Through a personalized partnership with students and families, our Academic and College Counselors provide guidance, support, and encouragement throughout all four years of high school. We work closely with each student to develop a plan for academic success, personal growth, and future opportunities while fostering the skills and habits needed to thrive in college and beyond.

Grounded in our Catholic faith and commitment to the formation of the whole person, we strive to help every student become a young adult of character, purpose, and leadership.

Thanks to the Counseling team, the college application process was painless and even fun for my son. They helped him get focused, explore his goals,
and find the right fit for him.

The Four-Year Counseling Journey

What to expect during each of your four years at JSerra.

Year 1

FRESHMEN

Building a Strong Foundation

Freshman year is focused on helping students make a confident transition to high school while laying the groundwork for future success. Counselors partner with students to develop a personalized four-year academic plan, explore their strengths and interests, establish effective study habits, ensure they are on track for graduation, and positioning themselves for the college admissions process.

Year 2

SOPHOMORES

Exploring Interests & Expanding Opportunities

As students grow in confidence, counselors help them refine their academic goals and begin exploring potential college and career pathways. Through personalized guidance, college research, and continued academic planning, students build a stronger understanding of their interests while preparing for the opportunities that lie ahead.

Year 3

JUNIORS

Preparing for the College Journey

Junior year marks a significant shift toward the college admissions process. Counselors work closely with students to identify colleges that align with their goals, navigate standardized testing, explore scholarships and enrichment opportunities, and develop a personalized application strategy that prepares them for senior year.

Year 4

SENIORS

Launching the Next Chapter

During senior year, counselors provide individualized support throughout every step of the college application process. From refining college lists and reviewing essays to writing personalized letters of recommendation and ensuring graduation requirements are met, counselors help students confidently take the next step toward college and beyond.
