HORIZONS PROGRAM AT JSERRA
Horizons is a four-year, certificate-based program for students with qualifying learning challenges designed to provide all learners a Catholic educational environment so they may achieve their full potential academically, emotionally, and spiritually.
The "high school experience" is something too often unavailable for many students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. They have the same wants and desires as other students, but many high schools do not have the programs available to support them — emotionally, academically, and spiritually. The Horizons Program at JSerra was created to fill this void.
Horizons aims to be a holistic and inclusive program. Students are taught Math and English at their level of instruction and are pushed out with appropriate support in all other academic and elective courses. They are eligible to participate in all other on campus actives (sports, clubs, etc.), as well as participate in JSerra's graduation ceremony their senior year.
