From the Classroom to the Boardroom

Learning today. Leading tomorrow.

Business Magnet students engage in authentic experiences that challenge them to think critically, communicate professionally, and lead with integrity. The program culminates in a senior internship and Capstone project, where students work alongside business professionals, contribute to meaningful projects, and experience firsthand what it means to lead in today's marketplace. By graduation, students leave with not only a strong academic foundation, but also the confidence and practical experience to excel in college and beyond.

Through the DuPont Business Magnet, I have discovered my interests in future careers, strengthened skills, and developed a better business mentality.

The DECA Experience

Compete. Collaborate. Lead.

Through DECA, students transform classroom knowledge into real-world success by tackling authentic business challenges, presenting innovative solutions, and competing alongside aspiring business leaders at the district, state, and international levels.

Real Business Challenges

Put your knowledge into action.

Compete in realistic business simulations that challenge you to think like an entrepreneur, marketing executive, financial analyst, or business manager. Students analyze real-world scenarios, develop strategic solutions, and present their ideas under the same time pressures faced by today's professionals.

Professional Presentation Skills

Lead with confidence.

Success in business depends on more than great ideas—it requires the ability to communicate them effectively. Through presentations, role-play events, and interviews with industry professionals, students strengthen their public speaking, critical-thinking, and executive communication skills while gaining the confidence to excel in any professional setting.

Compete with the Best

Challenge yourself on a bigger stage.

DECA opens the door to district, state, and international competition, where students test their skills against thousands of peers while representing JSerra with professionalism and integrity. Along the way, they build friendships, expand their professional network, and discover new possibilities for their future in business.
