We understand that changing schools is a significant decision, and no two transfer stories are the same. That's why we take a personal approach—guiding families through every step of the process while helping students build friendships, find their place, and confidently begin their next chapter.
From your first conversation with our Admissions team to your first day on campus, you'll find a community committed to helping your student feel known, supported, and ready to flourish as a Lion.
What You Can Expect

You Will Be Welcomed
Transferring high schools is a significant decision for both students and parents. At JSerra, we understand that transfer families are looking for more than an application process. You want to know whether your student will be known, supported, challenged, and welcomed into a community where they can thrive. Our Admissions, Counseling, and Student Life teams work together to help each transfer student make a smooth academic, social, and spiritual transition into JSerra.

You Will Belong
One of the unique ways JSerra supports transfer students is through Transfer Lions Club, also known as TLC. TLC pairs new transfer students with trained peer mentors who help them navigate campus, meet other students, get involved in clubs, athletics, and activities, and feel at home throughout the year. TLC hosts transfer-specific events including orientation, welcome activities, social gatherings, and check-ins designed to help students build friendships and become part of Lion Nation.
You Will Have a Clear Path
Every transfer journey is unique, but our process is designed to make each step straightforward and personal.
Start With a Conversation
Submit an inquiry or contact Admissions so we can learn more about your student’s current grade level, academic history, interests, and timing.
Submit Your Application
Create your Admissions Portal account and complete the transfer application.
Upload Academic Records
Transfer applicants should submit high school transcripts and most recent standardized test scores in PDF format through the application. Transcripts should include the most recently completed hight school term, along with middle school records as requested.
Submit Recommendations
Families will be asked to provide recommendations from a math teacher, English teacher, and school administrator. A pastor or faith leader recommendation may also be submitted.
Schedule a Tour or Shadow Day
This step is optional, but highly recommended so that prospective transfer students and their parents may experience all that Lion Life has to offer.
Plan Your Transition
Once admitted, students receive support with course placement, orientation, counseling, and connection to Transfer Lions Club.
