Broadcasting

The TV Broadcast Journalism program at JSerra Catholic High School is a study of television and video production in the constant changing world of Digital Media Technology.

Students will receive a comprehensive introduction in all aspects of TV, Video, Studio, Sports and Entertainment production that will prepare them for a future where media plays a large role in all aspects of society.

TV BROADCAST JOURNALISM

Students will learn basic TV/Video Production skills as it pertains to live studio programming and Electronic News Gathering (ENG). Beginning instruction is offered in the areas of general production coordination, equipment handling skills, camera operation, audio recording, basic script writing and video editing, with an emphasis on underlying principles of video technology. In the more advanced class, they will also develop skills in Sports coverage and highlight packages.

THE LION REPORT

The Lion Report is JSerra's daily school-wide newscast that gives students and faculty a creative window through which to see aspects of school life that they may not have experienced themselves — including campus news, daily announcements, sports highlights, and current events.
