Middle School Band and Orchestra Overview
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
JSerra Catholic High School proudly announces the launch of the JSerra Arts Academy, a new after-school arts program for middle school students.
In this year's pilot program, students currently in 6th, 7th, or 8th grade have the unique opportunity to work with JSerra faculty and high school mentor students in our Band and Orchestra program. We will be offering both a beginning level (no previous musical experience required!) and an intermediate/advanced level for students with at least one year experience on a band or orchestra instrument. Students can learn to play a woodwind, brass, or string instrument.
The Band and Orchestra program will meet two days per week (tentatively Monday and Wednesday afternoons, beginning level from 4:00 to 4:50 p.m. and intermediate level from 5:00 to 5:50 p.m.) starting November 13, 2023. Practices will culminate in a performance as part of JSerra’s Arts Showcase Festival on May 4, 2024.
