Telling Stories That Inform, Inspire, and Connect

JSerra's Broadcast Journalism program gives students hands-on experience producing professional-quality video content while developing the communication, collaboration, and creative problem-solving skills that prepare them for college, careers, and life.

From the first day in the studio, students learn every aspect of broadcast production—from camera operation and audio recording to scriptwriting, editing, and live television production. As they advance, students take on leadership roles, produce sports features, cover campus events, and create compelling stories that celebrate the people and experiences that make JSerra unique.

Working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, students gain confidence behind the camera and in front of it while discovering the power of visual storytelling to inform, engage, and inspire.

The Lion Report

THE VOICE OF JSERRA

The Lion Report is JSerra's student-produced daily newscast, delivering campus announcements, school news, athletic highlights, and feature stories to the entire community.

Produced entirely by Broadcast Journalism students, the program provides authentic, real-world experience in television production while giving students a platform to inform, entertain, and strengthen the culture of campus life. Every broadcast is an opportunity to develop professional skills, collaborate as a production team, and tell the stories that bring the JSerra community together.

These are the future broadcasters of the world learning professional skills seldom experienced in high school — but at the college level!

Professional Studio. Real-World Experience.

Learn in a broadcast facility designed for the next generation of storytellers.

JSerra's Broadcast Journalism students don't just learn the fundamentals of video production—they create in a professional-grade television studio equipped with the same technology and production tools found in today's media industry.

From the control room and production switcher to studio lighting, cameras, audio equipment, green screen technology, and digital editing suites, students gain hands-on experience using industry-standard equipment while producing content that serves the JSerra community. Every project builds technical expertise, creative confidence, and the collaborative skills needed for success in college, careers, and beyond.
