SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. -- Fans at Friday's non-league matchup between the JSerra Lions and San Juan Hills Stallions were not disappointed as the Lions resumed their winning streak beating the Stallions 97-29 at home.
The first day of the early signing period for football was celebrated at JSerra Catholic High School on Wednesday with six student athletes committing to play football at the colleges of their choice.

Convenience is the goal in JSerra Athletics' selection of their new on-line ticketing system hosted by GoFan, a subsidiary of Huddle Tickets which has been partnering with High Schools since 2001. The system went live today with tickets available for purchase to all Lions' home games for both Girls and Boys Basketball.
Serra pulled off a miraculous play at the buzzer to defeat Mayfair of Lakewood, 63-62, in the final of the North Orange County Championships on Saturday night at Sonora High School.
Junior Anthony Grover two-time Individual State Championship raced at the Foot Locker Western Regional on the legendary Mt. SAC course along with team mate senior Peter Herold. Grover finished fourth in a time of 15:37.6 qualifying for Nationals. Peter Herold took 14th in 15:59.8, just eleven seconds off the final qualifying spot.
Reporter Logan Newman of USA Today wrote about last Saturday's tailgate, which took place before the CIF-SS Quarterfinals against Oaks Christian on JSerra's home turf. What made the tailgate so special? It was hosted for Oaks Christian fans traveling 110 miles south despite enduring two tragedies that occurred within days of one another.
