Coach Rachael Ziemann
Top Level Coaching
Head Coach Rachael Ziemann comes to JSerra Catholic High School with a highly accomplished resume as a student-athlete, head coach, and mentor.
Coach Ziemann attended Edison High School in Huntington Beach, where she was a four-year standout athlete in both basketball and track and field. She earned a Division 1 scholarship to play basketball at Loyola Marymount University and was a two-time team captain, helping the Lions to both WCC Conference and Tournament Championships.
Before coaching at JSerra, she served as the co-head coach for the Crean Lutheran Girls Basketball team, where she won over 100 games and guided the Saints to two Empire League titles and three straight CIF-SS quarterfinals playoff appearances.
JSerra enjoyed a strong 2025-26 season in Coach Ziemann's first season as Coach, posting a 21-9 record and ascending to the top of the Orange County rankings for the first time in program history.
The Lions qualified for the CIF-SS Open Division Playoffs for the first time in school history, and earned a berth in the CIF State Basketball playoffs for the second time in three years.
State of the Art Facility
JSerra's spectacular Pavilion seats over 2,000 and includes a veranda that offers viewing around the upstairs perimeter of the gymnasium. The gymnasium has tremendous viewing for competition from every angle and seat in the house. The floor is NBA size, measuring in at 95' x 50'. The design permits three teams to simultaneously practice uninterrupted, with curtains separating each court from floor to ceiling. The state-of-the-art media boards provide top-notch viewing and quality advertising for local and national supporters of JSerra Athletics.
