Coach Mike Murphy
Top Level Coaching
Mike Murphy began coaching at JSerra in 2013 as the Head Girls Volleyball Coach and has over 19 years of high school and club coaching experience in South Orange County. In 2023, JSerra won the first CIF-SS title in school history and Coach Murphy was named the CIF-SS Division 2 Coach of the Year.
Coach Murphy takes pride in preparing student-athletes to continue their athletic journeys at the collegiate level. Murphy’s club teams have earned gold, silver and bronze medals in the Open Division of Junior Nationals, as well as several medals at USAV National Qualifiers and AAU events.
Coach Murphy is the Founder and Director of SWELL Volleyball Club. He also sits on the board at the San Onofre Surfing Club where he serves as the chair of the volleyball tournaments.
State of the Art Facility
JSerra's spectacular Pavilion seats over 2,000 and includes a veranda that offers viewing around the upstairs perimeter of the gymnasium. The gymnasium has tremendous viewing for competition from every angle and seat in the house. The design permits three teams to simultaneously practice uninterrupted, with curtains separating each court from floor to ceiling. The state-of-the-art media boards provide top-notch viewing and quality advertising for local and national supporters of JSerra Athletics.
