Top Level Coaching

Head Coach Ethan Damato has produced one of the most impressive coaching resumes in the country.

A two-time all CIF-SS player at Laguna Beach High School and a two-time all-conference selection at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo, Damato became the head coach of the Laguna Beach High School Girls Water Polo Program in 2008. In 14 years as the Girls Water Polo head coach, Damato amassed over 350 victories, 18 regular season tournament titles, 13 league titles, six CIF-SS titles, and two CIF Southern California Regional titles. Damato also coached the Breakers’ Boys Water Polo team for 11 seasons during that span, winning over 150 games and three CIF-SS titles. He is a four-time CIF-SS Coach of the Year award winner and a three-time Orange County Coach of the Year award selection. Three student athletes that Damato coached at Laguna Beach High School eventually became members of the United States Olympic Team.

Coach Damato has also enjoyed highly successful coaching tenures with SET Water Polo Club and with the United States Olympic Development Program. In 2025, Damato coached the U.S. Junior National Women’s Team to a gold medal at the World Aquatics U20 World Championships in Brazil.

In his first season as Lions Head Coach, Damato guided JSerra to its' first ever CIF-SS Open Division postseason appearance.

State of the Art Facility

The world-class Olympic-size pool holds 768,000 gallons of water and has been constructed with wave-reducing, overflow gutter technology, making this pool one of the fastest in the nation.

The Aquatics Center also offers a scenic background and open deck space, which makes it ideal as a training facility.

Spectators may view any aquatic event from the adjacent stands, which seat up to 400 fans.
