Each spring, the streets of San Juan Capistrano come alive for the beloved Swallows Day Parade—a celebration of history, community, and tradition. JSerra has been part of this tradition since 2004, and this year’s presence once again reflected the strength and character of its community.

From the first note of music to the final stretch of the route, JSerra’s presence was cohesive and well represented. What stood out was not any single moment, but the way each group contributed to something unified.

A Collective Effort

Behind the scenes, thoughtful coordination made for a smooth and well-executed showing across the school community.

Students from ASB and Caritas Christi represented all six houses, while the Pep Squad brought energy and visibility along the route. Together, these groups reflected the breadth of student involvement and school spirit.

This year also marked the debut of JSerra’s first Lion marching band. Their presence added a new dimension to the parade, with a sound that carried clearly and confidently through the crowd.

Strength, Spirit, and a Standout Presence

JSerra’s presence was both substantial and disciplined.

Nearly 70 football players, alongside coaches and staff, moved through the route with a strong and steady presence. The Equestrian Team added a distinctive element as the only high school group on horseback, a contribution that required significant preparation and stood out along the parade route.

Each group brought something different, but together they formed a complete picture—one that was organized, visible, and representative of the school as a whole.

Recognized for Excellence

Although JSerra was not entered for formal recognition, parade announcers noted the group as having an “award-worthy” presence.

It was a fitting acknowledgment of the preparation behind the scenes and the way the day came together. The result was not defined by a single highlight, but by the consistency and clarity of the overall presentation.

A Tradition Worth Carrying Forward

The Swallows Day Parade remains a meaningful tradition for the San Juan Capistrano community.
