About JSerra Equestrian Sport Club
The Equestrian Sport Club is composed of JSerra students who participate in the Interscholastic Equestrian League. Equestrian Sport Club members may compete in hunter, jumper, dressage, or western events, and must provide their own horses and train with their own private trainers.
Membership Fee and Credits
There is a membership fee of $500 for team members. Members may earn Varsity Letters for their participation on the JSerra Sport Club Team.
Members will receive 5 units of PE credit if they ride for a full year on JSerra’s Interscholastic Equestrian Club. Students must actively ride and attend sponsored events when not riding in order to receive credit. Riders may earn up to 20 units of PE credit for riding with the team for all four years. Twenty (20) units of PE credit are required to graduate.
JSerra PE credit may only be earned by participation in programs run through JSerra. Therefore, students who ride privately — regardless of the hours they put in and the number of events at which they show — will not receive PE credit for riding outside of IEL.
