Mu Alpha Theta
About Mu Alpha Theta
Mu Alpha Theta (MAθ) is the United States mathematics honor society for high school and two-year college students. JSerra Catholic High School received its Charter in June of 2020.
Mu Alpha Theta was founded in 1957 to provide high schools and two-year colleges an organization dedicated to promoting scholarship in mathematics and establishing math as an integral part of high school education.
Members are recognized for their mathematical excellence and have access to scholarships, awards, competitions, and math-related events through partnerships with other national organizations like MAA (Mathematical Association of America). Members provide peer support by volunteering their time to tutor other students in mathematics.
Mu Alpha Theta Tutoring
Math tutoring is offered by JSerra students who are members of Mu Alpha Theta. There is no cost for their services.
MAθ members must tutor a minimum of ten hours per year as part of their service to the JSerra community.
