PROFESSIONAL MAGNET PROGRAMS
High school is a time for students to explore their unique interests and grow their talents.
For students who have specific professional aspirations, we offer five highly acclaimed professional Magnet Programs — the first of their kind in Orange County! These programs set the bar for what diverse, immersive elective opportunities can look like for high school students.
Arts
The Arts Magnet Program has a series of discipline-specific courses to develop students' skills to an advanced level in their principle art form: Choir, Orchestra, Dance, Theatre, or Drawing and Painting. The program's mission is to create independent thinkers and leaders who will contribute inventively and critically to their culture through their artistic discipline.
Business
The DuPont Business Magnet Program develops future leaders who are prepared, knowledgeable, and skilled in the global business environment – and able to compete at the nation's most prestigious business schools. The program ensures that students will receive hands-on training in resume preparation and interview skills as well as an internship in their senior year.
Engineering
The Engineering Magnet Program is led by a former NASA engineer who emphasizes hands-on laboratory experiments and project-based learning, preparing students for an engineering curriculum on the collegiate level. Students will learn how to use 3D CAD software, acquire strong teamwork and communication proficiency, and develop organizational, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Law
The Law Magnet Program focuses on developing students' written, verbal, and analytical skills while introducing them to the field of law and preparing them for the rigors of law school. Students will learn how to raise and defend an argument; develop their analytical thinking, reasoning, and speaking skills; and write many different types of legal briefs/memoranda.
Medical
The Project-A-Pulse® Medical Magnet Program provides students who are seriously considering a career in medicine the unique opportunity to explore various disciplines within the medical field.
