We are now taking Arts Magnet Program applications for the 2020-2021 school year. Once your application to the school and the program have been reviewed, you will be notified via email.


Decision Date: March 1, 2020
Contract Return Deadline: March 15, 2020 

Acceptance into the Arts Magnet Program is dependent upon your enrollment in JSerra. Students accepted into the Arts Magnet Program but not enrolled in JSerra by March 15, 2020 will be deferred for students who are enrolled and accepted into the Arts Magnet Program.

(Applications for the JSerra Class of 2024 are now being reviewed. Applicants will be notified of admissions decisions in early March. Apply now.)

Program Cost

  • $500 for 9th Grade
  • $1,000 for 10th, 11th, and 12th Grade

Arts Magnet fees will be billed to your FACTS account.

Incoming Freshmen should take Freshman Communications in the summer so that their schedule allows room for Arts Magnet Courses during their 9th grade year.

  • Audition or portfolio review
  • Enroll in required Arts Magnet Program course(s) in your track (see 4-Year Plan)
  • Satisfactory attendance and disciplinary record

INCOMING 9TH GRADE Audition/Portfolio Review

All prospective AMP students must complete an audition (performing arts) or portfolio review (visual arts). Be sure to download and review the audition/portfolio review criteria below.

A JSerra Arts teacher will reach out to you to schedule an audition or portfolio review. Please note that auditions are 10-15 minutes long.


Minimum Requirements for returning 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students

  • Maintain B- minimum in all magnet courses
  • Enroll in required Arts Magnet Program course(s) in your track (see 4-Year Plan)
  • Satisfactory attendance and discipline record
