With a wide variety of online courses, JSerra Online Education is committed to providing enhanced learning and flexibility for students. All JSerra core courses are approved by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the University of California (UC).

Courses are available for advancement or remediation. All students MUST meet with their Academic and College Counselor prior to registration for course guidance and selection..

Classes are fast-paced and require daily commitment and effective time-management skills. Although the flexibility of an online course allows students the option to complete a course at an accelerated pace, no classes can be extended past the due date. Students taking two online courses are highly encouraged to develop a pacing guide with their teacher(s) to map a plan for successful course completion. Before registering for an online class, please consider your time availability and potential barriers to Internet access.

Fees

Registration is non-refundable. Each segment equals one semester-length course. A one-semester course is $800.

A year-long class equals both segment 1 and segment 2; therefore, a year-long course is $1,600.

What is the difference between an online education course and independent study course?

Online Education courses offer multimedia and virtual instruction for both advancement and remediation. The courses are designed for students wanting to learn in a self-paced environment.

Independent Study courses offer personalized content and instruction strictly for the purpose of remediation. The courses are designed for students wanting individual teaching in a 1:1 environment.

What are the student conduct expectations during JSerra Online Education?

JSerra takes academic integrity, ethical behavior, and authenticity of student work very seriously. Online teachers utilize technologies to check for authenticity including plagiarism detection tools, academic integrity databases, teacher expertise, and discussion-based assessments (DBAs).

In addition to all JSerra academic integrity and ethics policies, a student who commits an act of academic dishonesty in an online course risks removal from the course and is subject to the loss of enrolling in future online courses. If another person other than the student takes any portion of the online course, including but not limited to, completing assignments, conducting DBAs, or taking exams on behalf of the student, the student will be immediately dropped from the course and a WF will be recorded on the transcript. No refund will be issued, and student will be subject to disciplinary action.

What are the expectations of JSerra Online Education?

Because each summer semester is only eight weeks long, classes are fast-paced and require a significant time commitment. The following expectations will help guide student success in the online class:

All student correspondence, from registration through course completion, is facilitated through JSerra email addresses only. Please be diligent about regularly checking your JSerra email.
Consistent submission of assessments will ensure student engagement and learning. If a student is not active in an online class for an extended period, does not respond to teacher inquiries, or does not submit course work as required, student risks administrative removal from the course resulting in a WF (Withdraw Fail).
