Christian Service

Service Opportunities

JSerra Campus Ministry provides a list of suggested organizations with which the students can work via a Christian Service software called x2VOL. Students are welcome to suggest other organizations not listed on the school’s list, but such opportunities must align with the Christian service goals and be approved first by Campus Ministry.

Our aim is to assist JSerra students in identifying charities for which students can perform Christian service and practice the type of love that we are made for. There are many sources for Christian Service projects — including but not limited to:

  • Classroom sign-ups
  • Service organization days
  • JSerra leaders spearheading project

Available Opportunities

Students can donate working or broken computers, phones, or tablets to JSerra during the week of Monday 5/3 to Friday 5/7 for 1 service hour per device — up to 5 service hours total! The donations will have the unusable parts recycled properly and the working parts will be built into working systems that will be donated to schools in need. Please drop off in the Campus Ministry Office.

RAD stands for "rising above disabilities!" RAD is a week-long online summer camp experience serving individuals with disabilities and will take place Sunday 6/27 through Saturday 7/3. Check out the promo video here. They are looking for enthusiastic and selfless volunteers. Students would remotely support a camper during the week of the program by assisting with guided activities online and being a RAD friend! Interested students must be available the entire week of camp, be at least 15 years of age, and apply online by next Saturday 5/1. For questions, please contact Lauren Moore at lauren@RADCamp.org.

Family Assistance Ministries is desperately in need of hygiene products that are pre-packaged into "kits" that you can easily assemble and make from the comfort and safety of your own home! One kit includes a gallon sized ziploc bag containing toothpaste, floss, hand sanitizer, razor, comb, chapstick, lotion, sunscreen, wipes, tissues, feminine products (tampons/pads), and a card/letter of hope and encouragement (no self-identifying information please). These items should generally be travel-sized. Students are welcome to add other helpful items. Students can earn 2 hours for purchasing and delivering the "kits", and 1 hour per 5 "kits" that are assembled. All work must be done by the student. Please collect a receipt from FAM for service verification. Deliveries can be made to Family Assistance Ministries Office between 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday at the following location:

FAM Office & Warehouse
1030 Calle Negocio
San Clemente, CA 92673

Please visit Operation Gratitude for more details on how to purchase, make, and mail a paracord kit. The previous announcement incorrectly stated that students could earn 3 hours for every 5 bracelets. In actuality, Operation Gratitude awards students 1 hour for every 5 bracelets made, and JSerra awards 2 extra hours for purchasing and shipping all bracelets. In order to preserve our integrity with Operation Gratitude, JSerra is not able to approve more than this, as the incorrect rate of hours would compound disproportionately to the actual amount of service performed.

AgeWell Senior Services provides Meals on Wheels deliveries to Seniors in our communities that are unable to leave their homes. We are all impacted by the pandemic, but it is especially challenging and lonely for these folks that cannot got out or receive visitors the way they used to. Please create a little goodie bag with a candy, chapstick, lotion or other small/ useful surprise to brighten someone's day. Students can receive 1 hour of service for 5 goodie bags assembled, plus 2 hours for purchase and delivery of the goodie bag supplies. Letters or cards of goodwill may be included, but please no self-identifying information. Goodie bags can be dropped off to any AgeWell Senior Center at their various locations throughout Orange County.
