Senior Parking Paint Day

Seniors, let's start your senior year with some fun and paint!

This year, we will choose our spots online to make things easier and more fair. If you desire a parking spot in the Senior Lot where you will paint your design, you will need to purchase a ticket online between 12:00-2:00 on Friday, July 22, 2022.

The price is $125 per spot (non-refundable). Please note that this purchase does not include the parking permit from the Deans. If you purchased a parking permit during your sophomore or junior year, you do not need to purchase a separate parking permit. If this will be your first year parking at JSerra, you will need to purchase a permit separately from the Deans. (The form for purchasing parking permits is not yet available.)

Please plan to dedicate the entire day to paint your spot as this is the only official paint day!

Saturday, August 6, 2022
9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

Choosing Your Spot

The procedure for obtaining a preferred senior parking spot to paint is as follows:

  • Payment must be made online at jserraseniorpaintday2022.eventbrite.com between 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 22, 2022. The cost per preferred parking space is $125 (non-refundable).
  • A sketch of your design (Senior Parking Design Application) must be turned in to Activities Director Emily O'Berry no later than 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 22. It will be approved before paint day on Saturday, August 6.
  • Any artwork depicting items, symbols, or language that JSerra Administration and Mrs. O'Berry deem inappropriate will not be allowed and your design sketch will not be approved.
  • Once you decide on a spot, no changes will be allowed. If you make any changes or additions, you will have to paint over your entire parking spot. NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • After you select your preferred spot, you will receive your JSerra parking permit if you don't already have a $25 parking permit from last year.

Submitting Your Design

All designs must be completed on the Senior Parking Design Application and returned to Mrs. O'Berry for approval. Your design should be clearly drawn on this form and must include the colors you will be using on your parking space. On your design sheet, please include your first and last name, email address, your signature, your parent's signature and your cell phone number. DO NOT PAINT OVER THE WHITE LINES OR ON THE SURROUNDING PARKING SPOT CURBS!

Paint Specs

Water-based exterior latex paint is the only type of paint that can be used. No reflective paint, no spray paint, no fluorescent paint. Students must keep their design between the white parking space lines and the paint in their parking spot (please use blue painter's tape to keep those while lines untouched). DO NOT PAINT THE CURB AND DO NOT USE SEALANTS TO SEAL IN YOUR PAINTED SPOT. You may purchase water-based exterior latex paint at retail stores such as Sherwin Williams, Lowes, or Home Depot.
