This month is Respect Life Month in the Catholic Church. In keeping with this theme, JSerra wants to take advantage of October 11th as a day of Christian Service. Freshmen are free from classes on October 11th due to the PSAT exam being taken by the sophomores and juniors. Consequently, we are highly encouraging all freshmen students to participate in a Christian Service project. As an incentive, we will be approving two Christian service hours for every hour completed on October 11th only.

There are two options:

  1. On-Campus Catholic Relief Services Food Packaging for the Poor and Letter-Writing to American Soldiers* - THIS OPTION HAS REACHED MAX CAPACITY AND IS NOW CLOSED.
  2. Students who opt out of the first option are strongly encouraged to serve at any number of the approved JSerra Christian Service organizations — also for double service hours. Plans for these projects must be made individually. See x2VOL for suggested locations.

  • Participation is capped at 150 students.
  • Registered students will meet in the Center Room from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • There is a $30 cost per person to cover the food provisions and delivery.
  • Please wear jeans and JSerra t-shirt.

All approved service hours performed on Wednesday, October 11, whether at JSerra or in the community, count as double.
